DRO is a design brand for objects, utensils and small pieces of furniture made from concrete. This ancient material, which is believed to have been found in Egyptian pyramids and Roman aqueducts, was reinvented at the end of the 18th century by mixing clay components with limestone, which created cement, the main component of concrete.
We were born in 2018 in an experimental way, through the desire of an architect to transform the beauty and strength of concrete into art and take it from the outside to the inside of the buildings that symbolize today's urban space.
As time went by, we added new materials to our pieces, such as metal, which, together with concrete, build our purpose: to create unusual, rustic and, at the same time, raw and elegant pieces.
DRO’s Studio has been located in a warehouse in Cambuci, in the south of São Paulo, since 2022. It’s in this space of art and hard work that the pieces are created from our own silicone molds, also designed and produced by us.
Once prepared and cured, the concrete mass is deposited in the molds, waiting for different drying times. After being removed, the piece waits to cure and then goes on to the finishing stage, where we apply different products, according to the object's intended use. The molds are all reusable, as are the experimental and creative materials. DRO uses a lot of recyclable material, which constitutes one of our fundamental principles: sustainability.
We combine original production with artisanal series. We make unique pieces by hand, as well as models for mass production.
After many tests, many experiments and with the collaboration of engineers, we have developed some exclusive recipes, for the purpose and with the quality we need for each type of work. We use white cement, which is more sustainable, as it emits fewer pollutants in its manufacture, in addition to being more resistant than common cement.
Our production includes a wide range of objects: planters, trays, centerpieces, fruit bowls for every occasion , side tables, photo frames, hook-hangers, soap dishes, small Christmas trees and candles.

From our cities to our intimate living spaces, concrete can connect us. A liquid rock that, once cured, becomes strong and highly resistant to traction and compression. With a touch of creativity, it becomes art, a solid and functional art. It is this duality that inspires us to create objects that are both raw and authentic, taking concrete into environments where serving, presenting, decorating and organizing merge with art.
