PRATARIA ROBLES
Today we will talk about Robles Silverware, a traditional house that also has its history.
Who speaks to us is Eduardo Robles current director of the store.
The Robles family has worked in the business since 1936, when Mr. Angel Cuellar Robles started working as an employee at Casa das Pratas, in Largo do Ouvidor, in the city center.
Around 1954 he proudly set up his own store on Rua Capote Valente, in Pinheiros; "A backyard store but always with good craftsmen" says Eduardo. Around 1954 he proudly set up his own store on Rua Capote Valente, in Pinheiros; "A backyard store but always with good craftsmen" says Eduardo.
Then the business expanded and Mr. Robles was forced to change his address again and went to the Pompéia neighborhood. Around 1960, Prataria Rebouças (now Robles) appeared, with 60 employees at Alameda Itú, 1598. When his father died, Eduardo, recently out of business school, found himself with the responsibility of continuing his father's work and to the effort achieved through so many years. It was not easy, as he himself acknowledges moving the business forward. It took a lot of work and the support that Eduardo makes a point of emphasizing to the ladies of society, Maricy Trussardi and his sister, Maria José Magalhães Pinto, to make contacts with new customers. Today he confesses his love for silver craftsmanship and intends to maintain the quality and the name Robles.
